Y'know, people are attempting to tease me about going to the "deep-freeze" that is Winnipeg, but in all honesty I prefer what they have for winter over what we're having for winter right now. At least with Winnipeg winters you know what you're gonna get:

Winnipeg Winter = Snow in November, Usually Sun, -40 'til April

Unlike here:

Halifax Winter = Rain for a couple days in October, 5 degrees, snow for a night, -3, sun for half the day followed by DEEP FREEZE omfg -15, everything melts, torrential downpour, gale-force winds, 7 degrees 'til lunch, followed by -10, freezing rain... you get the idea. Now repeat daily 'til May.

Alice is back in NS, yaaay! It'll be so great to see her! She's really bummed at leaving Pascal behind, I'm giving her a couple days to just settle back in before giving her a shout since she's probably getting bombarded right now. Though I told her as soon as she's up to it she can call. We'll get to see her AND JENN (!!) on Sunday at the Xmas party!

Guess who picked up Arkham Asylum? If you can't yer simple. Played for a couple hours last night- omfg amazing game! That's where most of your b-day money went, mum&dad. The rest went towards a new watch :P

The gals and I are attending this wicked New Years bash at the WTC, can't wait! I'm getting my ticket tonite.

*Almost* done Xmas shopping! May even get the rest of it done today, that would be uh-mazing. I'd like to avoid the malls like the plague this weekend.

We're having the Family/Children's get-together right now, Adam dressed up as Santa and all the kinds are listening to him read a story. Dayum the people I work with reproduce well ;) So very very cute!

Blair brought in two different kinds of chocolate bark. That makes him my new god... 'til someone else bring in something yummier ;)

Verra excited right now- on Saturday I'm going to my first Karate class! :D It's one of my New Years Resolutions, and I wasn't going to mention it 'til then, but one of Clifford's good friends just opened up a studio, so there are 3-4 of us from work going for an introductory class. He's supposedly a great teacher, and also teached XMA. Can't wait!

Brough my wooden reindeer & Christmas lights and strung them around my monitors for good 'ole holiday flair :) Choke on Yuletide Joy, bitches!

I am in an unbelievably good mood! Not sure why, maybe because I got to catch up on sleep... or maybe because there's still snow (!!) or because I'm going out with my bestest buds tonite to celebrate my b-day :) Who's to say? But I'm glad of it!

After work last night went to the mall on a whim, and unbelievably managed to do a buttload of Christmas shopping. Wow! There's a first. Aside from a couple things I can pick up on Spring Garden, stuff for my grandmothers, and stocking stuffers (to be picked up in Winnipeg) I'm DONE, baby! :) Thank God, I wasn't looking forward to going out tomorrow.

Found out some news yesterday that will help with something on my New Years Resolution list. Stay tuned ;)

Tomorrow is going to be working on the home-made portions of Xmas prezzies. For Dad, Liz, Jenn & generic for everyone on my FB list etc. Because I don't do enough art at work! Lol.

So this may not be a 'pudgy' week for me, but not being able to make it to the gym and having shit food for supper all this week. Seriously, I have stuff in my fridge I'll HAVE to eat tonite before it goes bad... have a fair bit of veggies that aren't suitable for human consumption because I haven't been home much before 9pm. Wonder of Jenn's bunny would eat it...

AND we're having a baseball-themed lunch today at work, complete with franks and chili and peanuts and ice cream bars. Poor, poor jeans, lol.

Next week between Alice coming home and Jenn's b-day... GYM! :)

Had a weird dream last night about leaving HB and going back to work for Halifax Film as a storyboard artist... and it wasn't fun! We were in a room with no windows and I couldn't draw to save my life and no one would tell me what my salary was!

Game of Thrones: Again, first in the series. Great fantasy reading! GRRM takes forever to put a freaking book out, tho!
His Dark Materials: Lyra rocks, one of the few young female protagonists I adore. Plus Book 3? Earth-shattering first love? Makes me want to cry every time.
The Time-Traveller's Wife: Again, a funny, heartbreaking love story I fell right in to.
The Way the Crow Flies: The life and scandals around a young girl growing up in 1950s Ontario. Amazing writing, the characters just... wow.

Shaddup. Despite hacky characterization I love this movie. It was my obsession for the longest time. The giant-ass opus of an RPG Becca and I have been writing for 11 years started with this movie. My love of period clothing came from this movie. It had a huge influence on my life :)

Best. Animated. Movie. Evah. I was a huge-ass TLK fanatic in elementary school, and love how it's influenced the drawing styles of some of my fav online artists :)

Just kinda rolled out of bed and in to Steff's car this morning, so... frizzy hair & gyuck = least attractive I've felt in a long time ;)

Yesterday attempted to go Christmas shopping. Gwahaha! Yah, right. I can see myself going out the weekend before Xmas to pick things up. Do have ideas, just can't find 'em anywhere. Damn malls!

I know what my New Years Resolution is going to be. Not saying right now, but it's sorely needed. I'm really looking forward to it :)

Getting work done MUCH faster than previously thought- hopefully that means no overtime this week! Don't want my arse growing on account of lack of gym... and over-abundance of candy cane ice cream. Mmmm.

Was wide awake at 8am... dunno why. Was baking before noon- made cookies and biscuits and spaghetti sauce and noodles for lunches this week. Then Tommy & I went out to Jack Astors, which is always great. Then he took me grocery shopping- yay car!

Best part? I have a Christmas tree now. With luck it'll help get me in to the spirit! However, replacing all the rain we've been having with snow would also do it (everyone tells me to shut up when I say that, lol).

Last night was Ellen's bpday, it was a riot. Jenn & I got to pose ala Supernatural with airsoft guns (HUGE ones!), and of course it was great to see Ellen & Shawn's new place! Tonite Tommy's still over, we're chilling because neither of us is up to moving. Moving sucks, too much effort.

Tomorrow will need to be Christmas shopping, because seriously? I don't need to be out on Christmas Eve nabbing stuff ;)

So looks like dad's going to be flying out for Afghanistan on Dec 26, so we're going to have Xmas day on the 24th so we all have a day to just relaxiate. Ugh, the night of the 26th isn't gonna be fun. Shitty. But at least we'll have one more nite with mum.

Kind of had a feeling I was going to be a Scrooge this year, so far that hasn't changed. Maybe once it get closer to Xmas it'll be different.




Need to get my license renewed tomorrow. Hopefully they won't pester me about my change-of-address since I tried *twice* with their dumb online forms last year and they didn't work. Will bring some mail as proof just in case. With luck this picture will be MUCH better than the last one.
